FAQ

Where do I purchase tickets to TEDxMileHigh 2015?

You can purchase tickets on Eventbrite, by following this link: www.tedxmilehigh2015.eventbrite.com

Please note, we do not sell tickets at the door.

Is there a way to void a ticket and reissue it to someone else?

As tickets represent an important part of funding for TEDxMileHigh, our policy is that tickets can be given to anyone (the PDF ticket can be emailed to anyone), but not refunded.

Can I return/re-sell my unused tickets?

Our policy is that tickets can be given to anyone (the PDF ticket can be emailed to anyone), but not refunded.

Is there a list of public attendees to see who’s coming?

We are unable to share a list of attendees. There will be time for you to network and mingle before and after the event.

Is there a Will Call? I never received the email with my ticket included?

We do not have a Will Call, please let us know if you would like us to resend your ticket. We do ask that you print your ticket beforehand or have it available on your smartphone to enter.

Can I send someone in my place?

Yes, if you are unable to use the ticket you can email the PDF to the person you are sending in your place or give them your paper ticket.

Can I come and go as I please?

We recommend staying for the entire event, just as you would for a play at the theater. Intermission is from 3-4pm.

What if I show up late or have to leave early?

We recommend staying for the entire event.

Can I take a break then return to my seat?

We cannot guarantee that your seat will be available when you return.

How many people attend?

We will have roughly 2,000 in attendance.

Are tickets reserved seating or general assembly?

Tickets are general assembly for conference attendees. VIP, Hero, and Superhero ticket holders have priority seating. You can purchase tickets separately as they do not reserve a specific seat. We recommend arriving when the doors open or soon after to give you and your party enough time before the event starts to find seats together.

What’s the VIP reception?

The VIP reception, an invite only opportunity to discuss the power of great ideas with speakers, producers, and conference luminaries in an intimate venue. If you purchased a VIP ticket (or chose to become a Superhero or Hero-level donor), you will receive an invite from TEDxMileHigh for the reception. If you would like to upgrade your ticket to be able to attend the event, please contact: [email protected]

What time should I arrive?

The earlier, the better. We recommend arriving at 11am (or just a few minutes before) to get the most out of your TEDxMileHigh experience. We have an extraordinary group of exhibitors who will showcase their new products and technologies and engage with attendees around the power of big ideas.

Social media information?

Join in the conversation now on Facebook, TwitterLinkedIn, and Instagram. At the event, we encourage the use of social media but ask that you avoid using laptops and smart phones in the first 35 rows (i.e. Orchestra and Parterre seating areas) during the formal program to avoid distracting the presenters. You can blog/tweet throughout the breaks and in the Mezzanine, Loge and Balcony levels during the event. Please remember to use our hashtags #TEDxMH2015 and #IdeasUnbridled during the event and tag us @TEDxMileHigh.

What should I expect?

The program will include presentations from big thinkers and doers who will take a concise 3-15 minutes to describe a big idea, how they arrived at the insight and any lessons they learned in the process. Come ready to learn, to be inspired and to act upon what you experience. There will be 2,000 in attendance and we encourage you to meet as many of your fellow attendees as you can before and after the formal program.

Will there be food and drink?

We encourage you to eat well before you arrive and to plan for any specific food needs that you have, as the event lasts from 11am-7pm, with a Cocktail Reception following the event and you will want to stay energized for all the great programming we have in store for you! A meal from the some of the best food trucks in Denver comes with the purchase of your ticket to the event, but please do prepare for the length of the day.

Where should I park?

We encourage attendees to walk, bike, or take public transportation. The Ellie Caulkins Opera House is a short walk from the 18th and Stout Light Rail Station. You can also take the 16th Street Mall free shuttle to Champa and then walk the remaining two blocks. Otherwise, please allow 20-30 extra minutes to park. Parking garages charge roughly $10. We recommend parking in the Denver Center for Performing Arts parking garage, which you can access on Arapahoe between 13th and 14th. Another good option is the Colorado Convention Center parking garage, which you can access at Speer and Champa. Other options include The Curtis Hotel (14th and Champa), Larimer Square (15th and Larimer) and surface parking lots.

Where do I get my ticket?

Upon payment at Eventbrite, all attendees received an automated email confirmation with a PDF ticket. If possible, please have your tickets ready on your smartphone. If you have an iPhone, you already have Passbook installed. There is also an Eventbrite App, available on Android and iOS devices. You may also print your ticket and bring it with you if you are unable to download the app.

Where do I get my name tag?

When you arrive, we will scan your ticket and then you will receive a name badge to fill out.

What’s the dress code?

There really isn’t one, except that pretty much no one wears ties at TED or TEDx events. Jeans are great and something a bit dressier works too. Personal expressions of style are welcome and encouraged.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

X   We don’t allow photography or audio/video recording of our speakers (or video recording of any aspect of the      event, including the breaks). If you are covering the event, please be sure to note that when you register; we can provide you photos following the event.

X   Laptops and smart phones are not permitted in the first 35 rows (i.e. Orchestra and Parterre seating). We encourage you to sit in the Mezzanine, Loge or Balcony levels if you would like to blog during the event.

X   We expect a sold out event. With that in mind, we will need every seat, so we ask that you not save seats for those who will be coming in late. We have reserved the Loge and Balcony levels for latecomers.

X   Remember, you are on film. We tape the sessions, capture the audience and film during breaks, so you may end up in our TEDxMileHigh footage.

X   We want attendees to be able to fully take in each speaker. If you wish to have a conversation during the event, please wait until the breaks.
