Rachel Rossi, a senior at Durango High School, has been studying natural approaches to water remediation for the past six years and is passionate about creating a sustainable approach to water treatment. Rachel’s research motto is “Better chemistry through living organisms.” She placed second in the environmental management category at the 2013 International Science Fair. Rachel enjoys spending her free time outdoors rock climbing, backpacking, skiing, and playing soccer with friends and family. Next fall, Rachel will be attending Stanford University where she plans to study chemical engineering. She is looking forward to continuing her research and enjoying the California sun.
