The overdose epidemic isn't slowing down - here's the solution

Lisa Raville is the Executive Director of the Harm Reduction Action Center, a public health agency that works with people who inject drugs. Her experiences as an overnight homeless shelter coordinator, a County Supervisor campaign manager, and an AmeriCorps volunteer at an HIV/AIDS agency cultivated her activism. She holds leadership positions on the Colorado Criminal Justice Reform Coalition and the Colorado Consortium on Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention. In 2014, Lisa won the Colorado Public Health Association Award for Excellence in Policy.

“Drugs, “thugs,” and other things we’re taught to fear” from TEDxBinghamtonUniversity is my favorite TEDx talk. Gabriel Sayegh is a national expert in drug policy reform efforts and works to end mass criminalization, mass incarceration, and the war on drugs. I thought he does a great job weaving his own story in with the US’s archaic drug policies and how incarceration doesn’t work with drug use, never has, never will.
