Jeff Olson
Jeff Olson is a two-time Olympian, three-time national downhill champion and Pan-American gold medalist. He spent ten years on the US Ski Team. He met his wife, Toni, at the 1992 Winter Olympic Games in Albertville, France. Upon retiring from professional athletics, he earned his degree in finance and had successful careers in both the financial and technology industries. In the late 1990s, his father was diagnosed with cancer. It was a turning point in Jeff’s post athletic, professional career. In 2000, he co-founded Well Nourished Worldwide (www.wellnourishedworldwide.com), whose mission is to transform the standard in medicine, health and human performance. Jeff is co-founder of the Metro Denver Health and Wellness Commission (pre cursor to LiveWell Colorado) and the Zyozy Foundation. He serves on the board of directors of CAN DO multiple sclerosis, Turn the Tide Foundation and is Vice President of the Colorado Olympian and Paralympian Association. Jeff has contributed to Denver’s desire to host a Winter Olympic by serving on Denver Sports’ international bid and legacy committees. Jeff’s passion surrounding the Olympic Games centers on its ability to deliver a worthy legacy. Any meaningful legacy will precipitate from staying true to a higher purpose and executing well. Over the years, he has been an enduring advocate for distinguishing Denver’s “Olympic Why”. Until Denver knows why it is in the game, it will be a hollow effort. The big question is, “Why Denver, Why bother…”? Answering that question well becomes a winning idea worth spreading.
