Alexandre O. Philippe is an acclaimed documentary filmmaker dedicated to the appreciation and preservation of our global pop culture, and the recipient of several prestigious international awards. He holds a masters degree in dramatic writing from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, and is creative director of Denver-based Cinema Vertige and Exhibit A Pictures.

His recent feature-length documentaries include The People vs. George Lucas, The Life and Times of Paul the Psychic Octopus, and the upcoming Doc of the Dead—the definitive zombie culture documentary.

Alexandre’s films have screened at hundreds of film festivals, including SXSW, Hot Docs, Edinburgh International Film Festival, AFI Silverdocs, Filmfest München, Rome International Film Festival, Stockholm International Film Festival, Los Angeles International Film Festival, Istanbul Film Festival, and CPH:DOX. After a limited theatrical run across several territories, The People vs. George Lucas became the #1 documentary on Netflix, and was recently released on DVD and Blu-Ray by Lions Gate Entertainment, Wrekin Hill Entertainment, Kinosmith, Capelight, BAC Films, Fine Films, and eOne Entertainment.

Off the set, Alexandre has been hard at work on his comic book and graphic novel company, FRIED Comics, which is set to launch this spring at the Denver Comic Con. He also occasionally teaches dramatic writing at Lighthouse Writers Workshop, and film deconstruction seminars at festivals around the world.
